Valerie Yocum says
My Mom. What more can a daughter say about the loving, fun and nurturing Mom in her life. She was special, thoughtful, a good teacher. Even in her last weeks of battling cancer she could make the nurses and doctors smile or laugh. A tough lady. I’ll carry her with me forever. Rest easy, Mom. I love you. Valerie

Delores was my neighbor, my friend, my buddy. We’d sit and talk about how crazy the world had become, and what was on sale at Marsh, and life in general; we both spent far too much time alone and were good for each other chattin’ at her kitchen table. I will miss that greatly …
To my best good friend Clint and Valerie, every bit of my heart and compassion goes out to you. It all happened so fast, and you guys will experience every emotion there is in the coming weeks, and months, and years. Know that she is not suffering any longer — and that she loved you two dearly. I wish for every possible ounce of peace for you on your life’s journeys … 🙂

I worked with Delores for many years at DFAS. She was always ready and willing to do what it took to get the job done. I know her children and grandchildren meant everything to her. Clint and Valerie, your mom was always a good friend to me when we worked together. It is a sad day.

DFAS-IN lost an enormous amount of knowledge, expertise and wisdom when Delores left the building. But more than that, we all lost a good friend. Take care my friend, I’ll be seeing you again one day.
